Working on LJ P3005x that when powered on will freeze up with 096MB on the display. It goes through what I would consider the normal start up cycle mechanically speaking and then it just stays with the 096MB on the display. Any ideas or suggestions will be much appreciated. Thanks.

First try the easy things: power it down and reseat the DIMM chip on the formatter three times and try it again. The formatters in these are famous for poor solder connections on the processor chip. We have a lot of these here and no money for parts so we bake the chip with a heat gun and a laser pointer thermometer. Refurb boards use ROHS solder and an ROHS compliant processor chip and seem to work a lot better. Heating the chip is a short term repair, if this printer is mission critical get a refurbed formatter.

Formatters on those are garbage.
