I have replaced the fuser unit. Does anyone know if there is a error reset for this code? If so please provide. Thanks.

There's no error reset; that's an actual bad reading.

It's probably not the correct fuser for that machine; there are a series of fusers that share the same shell but have different electronics. Check out the part number on the fuser itself (printed on the barcode label); look for RM1-1043 or RM1-0101. Either of those fuser part #'s will work; but any other part# will trigger a 50.4 error code.

Try to get a second replacement fuser with the correct part#; that should fix it.

If that doesn't fix the error, check the pins that connect the fuser for bent / damage, and then as a last resort, replace the DC controller.

Ok I tried fuser with verified correct part number. No help. Checked pins for damage noted nothing unusual. Replaced DC controller and still have 50.4 fuser error. What should I look for now? Thanks for your help.

Would that be the one on the back of the unit or the engine power supply? While we're at it can you give me directions on how to get the engine power supply out of the unit? Thanks to all who have responded on this.

I have replaced the Power Supply and now I'm getting a 55.04.92 DC Controller error. Am in the process of making sure all connections are good and no pinched wires. Suggestions or thoughts greatly appreciated.

Found that I didn't have the formatter screwed in tight. Ultimately the problem was the DC Power Supply. Thanks for the help. I'd still like to know the procedure for removing the engine control power supply if someone has instructions.

1. Remove the following assemblies:
● Fuser.
● Output-bin assembly.
● Duplex-printing unit (or the cover if no duplex-printing unit is installed).
● Front cover.
● Back cover.
● PFC power supply

You'll need a manual for specifics on how to remove each of those.
