Wondering if anyone in service industry has run into jetdirect problems? We have replaced 8 in the last month. Problems range from stuck in intializing, calibration mode. to just putting up *******.
Hp site show no service notes. Any suggestions.

Thanks,
Knightdon

What model JetDirect? What's the part number on it? There are some counterfeit JetDirects out their that are not very reliable. I would assume that the 8 were not replaced in the same printer. Are they dead as soon as you install them or do the die after a period of time?

They are the 615 jet directs. Customers are calling in with the problem. Only one was under HP warranty. All different companies, different enviroments nothing similar that can be traced to a common problem other than the card itself.

Strange, you might consider replacing with a different model JetDirect, maybe a 600N or 610N -- J3113A or J4169A. These are a lot less expensive than the 620N's. I've never tried one of these cards in a 4600 but there usually is no problem with backwards compatiblity.

We've been having quite a lot of problems with 615s too, 600s and 610s seem to work for years but loads of 615s are dropping out.
