I would be grateful for instructions about initializing the hard disk of my LJ 5100tn.
Can anyone advise me, please?

First, are you sure that you have a hard drive? It will be plugged into the the formatter. If you are trying to use a Universal Print Driver then this driver assumes you have a hard drive until you go to Printer Properties in your computer and tell it that you do not. Google the printer and the model and you will find several free places to download the service manual for free. If they want money look elsewhere. You could store it in memory, put it on a CD/DVD or print it out.

1. Print a configuration page and menu map
2. Turn off the printer
3. While turning on the printer hold down SELECT and CANCEL JOB until all the lights on the control panel are lit
4. Press [-MENU] and [-VALUE]
5. Press SELECT
