Hello everyone,
I have an HP 8550dn, and I can't get rid of a shadow/ghosting effect on my printouts. If anyone can help/suggest, please post up.

Regards,
Ritchie

Howdy. Just went through this on a cranky unit, and got good advice from corporate tech support.{ I refuse to talk to anyone in any "outsourced"}
When replacing stuff you need to take a good look with a bright light inside.
On the cleaning roller holder there are two white bushings on the spring assy.
If one is missing, you will get ghosting and\or smears. Also the ICL lever may be original and bends\wears out. there is a kit for it with a re-inforced lever and new bushings. The solonoid {SL1}for the cleaning roller assy. is on the left of it, behind a black plastic cover. Insure that the flapper isnt held up by the white plastic stop on the shaft. Kit #is:RG9-1527-020cn
If SL1 is bad:C7096-69011 Sub relay PCB: C7096-69010 HP doc#bpl90025
