My HP 4550 random prints blank pages. Did the turn off HP and restart using the hold cancel to clear NVRAM. No works. Open rear door for air...only once that worked. How low does the transfer kit have to get to replace?? I have a yearbook that needs to get out so please any help I will take.

Hi
Few questions need to ask
How much pages has the machine done???
When you say that the some pages are printing blank eg [page 4 ok, blank page 5,and then print page 6] or [page 4 ok, next page blank, and then print page 5] If this is the problem it may need feed and or pick up rollers.
Have you just changed the toners
Have you just changed the drum
At what % is the transfer kit...
Does the printer come up with any errors on the little screen...also do you know how to print out an event log.......if so let me know the errors..
Try the above things and let me know how you go
Good luck

This problem is usually caused by a problem with the ITB (middle) drawer. Most commonly there is a small piece of paper stuck in the connector. Open the middle drawer as far as it will go, remove the transfer belt, and look inside for the connectors and inspect them for small bits of paper. Look closely as it only takes a very small bit of paper to cause this problem
This page (http://www.partsnow.com/service_today/0603tt.asp) has some pictures of the connector, but you don't need to actually remove the drawer to check it out.
Good luck!
