Does anyone know of a place to send our printers to get refurbished? I have approximately 15-20 HP 4000 Laser Jets that are sitting on pallets as inop. Would it be cheaper to get these refurbished?

" Would it be cheaper to get these refurbished?"

Cheaper than what?
Where are these printers located?

Cheaper than buying an already refurbished one. The printers are located in Southwest Missouri. Thanks for the quick reply.

We do repairs at PrinterTechs.

As far as whether it's cheaper or not, the answer to that question really depends on the condition of the printers and what kind of attention to detail you are looking for ...

If the printers are just paper jamming or giving '50 errors' you could just have basic roller kits or maintenance kits installed and definitely save some money. This would just be regular maintenance rather than actually rebuilding. These 4000 printers are fairly hardy printers, so often to get them up and running for the short term they just need a basic kit installed. (That's something you can do yourself if you have the time, kit installs take about 25 minutes each, very easy to install. Instructions here: http://www.printertechs.com/tech/mkinst/mk-4000-1.php )

However, if you're looking for a full rebuild like we normally do at PrinterTechs (replace all rollers with premium rollers, rebuild the fuser , solenoids checked & repaired, hidden gears and hidden rollers replaced, panels washed & cleaned, etc.) then the cost would be similar to the cost of replacing the printers, so the savings would be minor. The actual value of a core printer is fairly low; it's the labor and the parts that increase the value. Here's a link to the replacement printers. http://www.printertechs.com/printer/refurbished-hp-laserjet-4000N.php

Since each printer could be in different condition, we generally do repairs on a case by case basis, so if a couple pallets were shipped in for repair we would want to examine them before giving you a quote for recommended repairs. Any questions give us a call @ 866-352-7108.
