From the manual....make sure EconoMode is off.
Bring your own paper to the site and see what happens.

Maybe Steve has an idea.

Economode is off. Have tried different paper, still no difference.

I had a 2420 doing that the other day. It had other issues so I demoted it to a parts machine. Some things you could try would be to swap the formatter (since it drives the laser scanner), then the laser scanner. Both are fairly easy to swap. Then the engine controller board, and finally the main power supply board. In this printer I think the whole engine lifts off and the board is easy to get at but it has been several years since I did this. I'm not sure it is worth all the trouble. You could probably find a low page cound 4100 for much less than the time and parts, then you would also have some spare parts from the old machine.

Thanks for the feedback. Formatter took care of the problem. rb
