Hello,
Printer cannot load paper anymore : there is now a recurring 'click' sound from the printer and the paper does not load from the paper tray. This 'click' sound is the sound that the printer mechanims makes just before loading paper, but here intead of loading paper, this 'click' sound just keeps on repeating and nothing happens.
Thank you for your help.

How many pages has this thing printed? There may be dust on the feed roller, if so clean it off with some alcohol with a drop or two of light oil to refresh the rubber. If you can get a flashlight and see if the roller is turning that will determine if the the problem is the roller or something in the transmission that is supposed to make the roller turn. Is there a tray # one that you can use till you fix the problem or replace the printer? These small lasers are difficult to repair, hard to get parts for and are generally considered kind of disposable. Try Google and see if there is a service manual available. Also check with your local HP authorized repair place and see if they can shed any light on it.

The P1005 doesn't have an actual tray. It's one of those super cheap printers that only has a little plastic flap that you lay the paper in. There is no display, no buttons, and no way to even make a page print out of it other than from a computer. No fun to try to fix.
Sounds like the pickup roller shaft is dislodged from the gear that drives it. Haven't run into that problem yet so I don't really have any good advice for ya as far as fixing it. Good luck tho!
