Some of my 8100 printers shows "tray 2 unknown" and send blank pages between printed pages
any idea?

It does not know what size paper is in the tray. Usually this is from the blue paper guide being stuck in the wrong position. Compare it with the tray that is working if it isn't obvious at first glance.

pickup assembly (piu)
size page sensor

Run a paper path test from tray 3. Tell me what you see on the page that it prints.

I did it from all 3 trays, these are the results:
Source: Tray 1
Tray 1 size not known, output positioned for smallest paper size
Input Trays Output Bins
tray 1 (unknown) standard outbin (this data seems for an envelope)
tray 2 (unknwn) face up bin
tray 3 (unknwn)
Source: Tray 2
Input Trays Output Bins
tray 1 (unknown) standard outbin (this data has no format, looks very small)
tray 2 (unknwn) face up bin
tray 3 (unknwn)
Source: Tray 3
Input Trays Output Bins
tray 1 (unknown) standard outbin (These data looks very good)
tray 2 (unknwn) face up bin
tray 3 (unknwn)
Thanks for your attention

That's your problem. It should have a paper size for both tray 2 and tray 3. Do you have any other printers of the same model that you could switch paper trays with just to rule that out as a cause?
Have you gone into paper handling menu to set the paper size to letter?

I already tried that my friend...
is there a physical solution?
some card, or formatter?

Have you tried a cold reset? I would definitely try that if you haven't already. Think you hold the Go button while you power it on.
If that doesn't fix it, I'd suggest the paper size pca assby. Part # is RG5-2168-000CN. I've never seen that board go bad, but ya never know.
