4050tn maintenance kit

Hello everyone...

I installed a new fuser assembly in our 4050tn and when I go to power it up it gives me a paper jam error at the rear cover, but there is no jam. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

As you view the fuser from the rear of the machine, on the right-hand side there is a sensor flag that operates thru a photo-sensor. Check to see if either the sensor flag or the photosensor is broken. Quite often, this is the situation for the problem you are describing. Hope this helps, Jim

The paper flag is the most likely suspect. Make sure it is seated correctly and moves freely. It is possible to install the upper feed assembly and for the flag to get stuck so that it doesn't drop back into place as each page feeds through.
