View Full Version : 4050 New Rollers including 4-D rollers. Not feeding from Tray but works via by-pass

Well, This HP4050 is used with an HP4050 folder. I replaced all the rollers because the printer was making the groan normally associated with roller wear. I even did the D-rollers (4). This is a single paper tray with a flip-down by-pass.

Now the paper feeds fine via the by-pass but will not pick-up from the tray. When using the tray a single sheet feeds to the tray pick-up roller but does not get picked-up.

Can you tell me what to check and how to check it.

Thanks

Bob

It could be the torque limiter (little black/grey device that sits at the front of the paper tray, on the same shaft as the separation roller).

Try this: remove your separation roller from the paper tray, then slide that little torque limiter off the metal shaft. Reinstall the separation roller and run a page without the torque limiter installed. If the paper feeds ok, then that torque limiter is malfunctioning.
