Origianly the message was Unexpected paper Size in drawer 2, also got media to long, when all the settings were for A4 on a 4345 mfp. Didn't really know what to do so I started with looking at everything in the drawer, make sure everything was working, and I pulled apart what you see in the pictures, this part originaly when I found it did not have one of the three levers/flags? working. Look at the small black piece it has three spring loaded white pressure tabs / buttons? one was full of dirt, I cleaned it and everything seemed to work, put it all back together, my message has no change too, "theres no paper in tray 2" when there is plenty of paper in try 2. I am guessing that when I put it back together I blocked or screwed up the flag that tells the printer there is paper; also on the front of tray 2 there is a small plastic indicator that tells you the paper lever. This is moved by a gear assembly on the back of the drawer, when you insert the drawer the printer lifts the paper up; as it does this the plastic visual indicator moves so you can see how much paper you have in the drawer. After cleaning and replacing the three flags in the rear of the printer.... the printer no longer lifts the paper ( I say that because the visual indicator is not moving when the drawer is pushed shut).... I am assuming this has something to do with the message No Paper in tray 2, if I pull the drawer and move the white gear assembly with my fingers the visual indicator on the front of the tray will move..... so I am guessing that something is not moving the white gear assembly and that has something to do with how I put everything back together..... can you tell me where to look and what I am looking for... please. Attched are to pictures of what I took apart and cleaned. I am sorry one of the pictures is not very clear my webcam does not stretch far enough and I had to put it on zoom but you are looking at where Drawer 2 fits right into the back of the printer where I removed the three white flags from, where one was not working.

Thank you

We have at this time pulled the Paper Lift Assembly and replaced it with new one from HP, it worked at the start but has now quit again. The paper level indicator is not moving again, I am wondering if it might be the spring that attaches to the lift assembly. If that spring is loose or warn out if that would cause the gear from the assembly not to meet with the gear on the drawer that actually lifts the paper?

Just an update, we have 3 4345's in the shop all with 2 drawer problem, two of them kept saying paper jam but there is no paper jam. Not true, I finally broke down tore the whole thing apart. Found very small piece of paper wedged in between some rollers, once removed we have no problem with those two but still working on one more and I think it has to do with the formatter not sure yet.
