View Full Version : False Paper jam PLEASE HELP

Hi ,
We are having HP Laserjet 4 plus printer and after printing 1 page
it started giving error 13 paper jam. There doesnt seem to be a paper jam..can anyone plaease tell me where should ii look for roller / sensor check ? I don't know where these are and what I should check or clean ? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Normally if you can't see a jam, check the paper tray to see if a single sheet of paper is pulled up over the silver tab, if it is the feed roller is bad. This will cause the printer to think it has a jam. To get to the feed roller remove the toner, and paper tray then flip the printer upside down, you will see the roller. It is only held on by one clip.

Another posibility is that the sensor on the fuser is broken or out of place. The sensor is located on the top right-hand side of the fuser as you view the machine from the rear. Hope this helps, Jim

Jim I have seen that alot too, rita try that one because the sensor in the fuser could be broken.

also the exit sensor could be defective too, check that too.

they both should move freely not jammed.
