View Full Version : Laserjet 9050
Hi, we have a laserjet 9050 and the fuser, which is only a month old, is now giving a awful smell, almost a skunk smell. Anybody knows what could be the problem?
Thanks.

Put the old fuser back in. Something is probably overheating.

If it's overheating you'll get a fuser temperature error.
There can be some smell with a new fuser installed, grease may be settling. If you have no other problems with print quality, etc. I would say it is normal.

Skunk smell indicates sulfer, or fibre board burning on a PCB. If grease it would not resemble a skunk odor. But yes, a new fuser can have a different plastic / oil burning smell depending on the remanufacturing processes.
