hp lj 1522nf won't initialize

I am working on a hp 1522nf mfp. It powers up but won't initialize. After a couple of attempts to get it to power up and initialize the unit will still power up but the display will be blank and it still won't complete the initialization.:mad:

These things are mostly disposable machines. When the warranty runs out it will likely cost more to fix it than to replace it. Without another machine to play swap the parts there is not much you can do.
