No paper pieces remaining after jam. Probable cause - a manually fed envelope fed into intake feeder a couple of seconds too late. By the time it did feed, the toner was deposited near the edge of envelope instead of middle. Paper jam occurred. As part of the envelope was still visible from input feed area, I pulled it back out manually!

Shut printer off, then repowered. The printer status lights: READY = ON, ONLINE = ON, FORMFEED = ON.

When I try to print, the printer immediately shows 13-PRINTER JAM.

I suspect I may have disturbed a sensor on the manual input feed area when I pulled the envelope back out of the input feed area.

Any suggestions? Thanks much.

Best Regards.

First thing to check is to make sure there is no paper stuck in the machine somewhere. Pull the toner cartridge and lift up the metal plate in front of the image drum. Open the back door and check the fuser area for paper scraps. Two philips screws and the fuser comes right out. There is a paper sensor on the fuser and one on the output assembly. You can download a service manual free from the Internet.

Thank you for your suggestions. I will try them. If message still persists, I can always go to MENU button and shut OFF the option for Manual Feed and not use MF any longer.

Thanks.
