On the HP4M+..... I have removed the fuser assembly, as a gear was stripped due to a frozen exit paper roller shaft.
Question is: How can I make the printer go through a "warm up" cycle so I can observe the drive gears (from the rear door) to see if they are damaged?
Thanks in advance.

You can't force a cycle with the fuser removed ... but with the fuser removed the gear you need to examine can be rotated and inspected by hand. It will be on the left hand side of the printer cavity, it's a white gear on a metal pivot, rotate that gear and inspect for tooth damage (you will probably need a flashlight for clear view.)
It's part of the main gear assembly -- takes probably 20 minutes to replace.
