Lubricant for white nylon gears?

Finally, an easy question! What is the best lubricant to use on the white nylon gears and assorted shafts in these printers? White lithium?

The prefered grease is CHEMPLEX 710. Last time I bought it was about $10 a 5.3 oz tube. The bad news is they wanted a minimum order of $25. Nice folks and the stuff
will have a long shelf life. If it has been sitting for a while massage the tube to mix the oil back in. Shipping charge was very reasonable. One tube will do a bunch of printers.
We mostly work on HP 2420 and 3005 printers. When they start growling we remove the gears that drive the fuser. The toner contamination in the bore of the gear causes jitter in the gear train which makes the growling. Never had to replace the gears in the 2420, just clean them, clean the shafts they rotate on and lube everything up. The final drive gear on the 3005 gets worn and usually needs replacing: RU5-0957. We also do the bushings in the fuser and replace the big gear on the fuser, it can cause growling too.

Our solvent of choice is OOPS, available wherever paint is sold, we can get it at our Lowes home center, about $20 a gallon. We buy long stick medical swabs, get a couple thousand for about $20. Check the Internet. The OOPS is an alcohol solvent with some petroleum distilates and a little oil and some perfume. It works well on almost everything. Use it sparingly on the printer covers because it can eat the ABS plastic.The ribbon cables that mate with the ink jets get cleaned and a thin film of oil is on the contacts. This keeps them from corroding. When the 2420 and 3005 get out to maybe 50K pages and up some may start growling. The gears that drive the fuser get toner inside the gear where it rubs on the shaft. This causes the gear to rotate with a jerking motion. Wiping off the shafts and lubing the gears well and the growling goes away. As before, the final drive gear on the side of the printer for the 3005 gets worn and needs replacing when you do this. We also replace the bushings in the fuser and lube them up well. The big gear on the end of the fuser gets worn and it causes noise too. I lube the shaft it sits on when I replace the gear. Left over grease goes on all the gears.
