Need some more information. Which tray is it that is causing problems? What size and kind of paper? Is it intermittent or constant? Assume it is tray two (the one underneath the printer) and you are using standard paper. First thing to check is the pickup roller, is it clean and free of dust? If the paper tray is set too long or too short for the paper size you will have feeding problems. If the paper gets out of the tray and hangs up at the guide that turns the paper up vertically and hangs there then carefully remove the paper and inspect the leading edge for dings. There may be a scrap of paper up there that is preventing the paper from feeding. If the paper is not moving at all then the shaft that turns the pickup roller may be broken.
If it is tray one, up on the front of the printer, it folds out for labels and card stock, then again inspect the feed roller for dust.
Please let us know what you find.
