We went out to do routine testing on this plotter which was in storage with the power on. We test these every two weeks to prevent heads clogging up. About a week ago it went to READY but when a demo print was invoked it seemed to be starting the setup for the print then just hung there. No response to any of the panel buttons. Powered it down and back up then it worked fine. Today it did the same thing. Power down/up, it works fine. No errors in the log since the middle of last year. My guess is the GAMUT board. I am going to swap that board with one from another printer we use for parts and see what happens.

Any other ideas out there?

Al

Other than that, maybe network card?

It must have been a transient thing. We saw it twice, after that repeated testing over several weeks showed no further problems.
Thanks for the reminder on the NIC, I have seen them cause many weird problems.

Thanks,

Al
