I'm printing fine art on the epson 7880, using 'Innovo soft textured 315 gsm paper'. I have the profiles for the paper but when I print out images that have large areas of black, the image is 'flat'. The subtle detail of the dark areas is lost and I get a flat black. It was suggested to me that the printer drivers may not be happy with this paper and that I may need to purchase a RIP to overcome the problem, I was hoping that someone would have a solution to the problem that doesn't involve the great expense of buying a RIP.
