I have had this happen numerous times. I have leaned over the years NOT to do this but one of the tech's from time to time will still cluster it up.
Once the printer has been plugged in, this is almost any HP printer that uses USB, windows will load USB Printing Support, once this has happened, it seems that no matter how many times you install/remove the software/USB Printing Support, etc, the proper HP USB Port will not install.
Does anyone have a simple solution, other than re-imaging, that will fix this issue.
I am assuming others have had this occur, if not I will be happy to post more details include the most recent printer model that this occured with.
Clients are all either Windows XP Pro SP2 or SP3
Thanks for any information.
