HELP ME PLEASE... HPJ4550 not responding

Hi there...

I have an HP OJ J4550. I also have an HP laptop.

I downloaded the driver from the website, the laptop recognized the printer, but when I try to print, either a TEST page or a document, it just shows an error. I uninstalled the driver and reinstalled it and the same thing is happening. I have the USB plugged into the computer and still nothing.

Is there something that I'm missing?? Thank you so much for any and all help...Corriejo

Try this: go to START, SETTINGS, PRINTERS & FAXES, find the icon for your printer and RIGHT click on it. Go to PROPERTIES, then select PORTS. Sometimes when you plug in a USB cable the second time Windows will create another USB port. If you have two USB ports assigned to that printer try the other one and see if that works.
