I am having a problem with a 2430tn that is making a loud clicking noise. I have posted a video on youtube with the noise it makes when I turn it on. I hope someone can lead me to a solution.

the link to youtube is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HT2EAVHJshA

The printer will print, but just makes the noise.

Chances are it is the bushings in the fuser. They can wear out to the point the
shaft is rubbing on the sheet metal frame. This can happen with page counts
as low as 50,000. When the transmission is overloaded there is an over
torque protection built in so the load will not destroy the plastic gears
in the transmission.

The solution would be to replace the fuser, and also the small white gear which drives the fuser, which is worn out and causing the clicking noise ...
