Problem:
Example: Customer sends a 500 page job, the job prints fine. with in 1-2- minutes while the customer is preparing the next job. The Printer powers complete off. The customer tries to turn it back on, but the machine will not allow the customer to power the machine back up for several minutes.

I have checked the log and the machine is not logging any errors. The machine had 297,000 pages and is running MICR toner.

My thought is possibly a fuser problem. But I could use any input.

Thank you for your help.

Just a couple guesses. Are the fans running strong? If you watch a fan when it powers on does it start briskly and run quietly? Is anything blocking any of the air vents? Does it fail the same way when a short job is printed? Is this the only one you have? Most of these printers interface the control panel with the formatter board so that may be the answer. Is it possible some other device(s) on that circuit breaker is dragging the wall power down? If it was the fuser you should get an error code. Run the error code record printout and see if something jumps out at you.

Please let us know what you find.

Is there a tray 4 and a stacker?
If yes...are the power lites on those items off? or is it just the printer that powers down.
Is the wall outlet good and is it a dedicated outlet?
Make sure that it isn't plugged into a power strip or surge protector.

If you can confirm that the power outlet where it plugs in the wall is OK ... it should be a high voltage power supply issue.
