Hello Everyone,

I have run into a strange issue. I have a client with an 8150 that has began printing all white pages. I have checked to make sure that all the sealing tape was removed from the cartridge and has been. What I did find is somewhat hard to describe.

It was difficult to get the toner out and back in. It did not seat properly. After a little further exploration, this is what I discovered. There is a small, 1" plastic block that is lying in the toner compartment for lack of a better term. It appears that it has broken off. Let me try to describe it. I am standing so that I am facing tray 1 and the control panel is to the left side. Open the top cover and remove the toner cartridge, bend down and you can see the mylar strip with the yellow warning sticker that says 'CAUTION-HOT SURFACE'. Just to the left of that sticker, there is a cut out in the mylar. It appears that is where the plastic block came from. It looks like that plastic block is what engages the arm on the toner shutter to open it.

With that block out of place or gone, I do not think the shutter is opening on the cartridge. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? I have checked the service manual and I can not find it to see if it is a replaceable part or what it is a component of. I don't know what to replace.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone for your time and have a great day!

Respectfully,

George D.

Sorry, I have not worked on that one. If the shutter is not opening you will indeed get all white pages. That laser will burn holes in your retina. Try this source for HP parts: http://partsurfer.hp.com, if this part is available it will give you a number and you can poke around and see what it will cost. Search Google to see if a free download for the service manual is available.

George, we sell parts at PrinterTechs... 866-352-7108.

You can call with a description of the part for pricing, etc.

Hey Everyone,

Thank you for the help with this one. I found a part number on the plastic block in the toner cavity. It is the Toner cartridge guide stop. Once I replaced it, we have print on the pages! Thanks again everyone!
