We have had 2 of the same issues on the same 2 printer models, and I wanted to see if anyone may know the cause. The printers are HP Color LJ's CP1215, and they are just stand alone (non-networked) printers. Issue is that a print job gets hung up, or errored out, and when you go to the print que to delete (cancel) it, it does not go away, and therefore we arent able to do anything with it. We have switched it off and on, unplugged the USB, and there it remains. I probably usually wouldnt even write about this, but the fact that it was the same exact model in a 2-3 week span, I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this. Any thoughts??

If these printers are connected by USB cables then sometimes when the printer is powered down when it comes back up the operating system, at least Win XP, sometimes creates another printer and new USP port. If a print job is stuck in this new, "phantom" printer then you cannot delete the job. Check: START, SETTINGS, PRINTERS & FAX, and see if a new printer icon has been created. Left click on it and you may see your hung print job. Delet the job, then delete the new printer icon and you may be out of the woods. Please let us know what you find.
If the job is stuck in the printer there should be a COLD RESET proceedure that would get rid of it.

Well, our network IT people took care of the issue, but I am not sure what they did to fix it. I will print these notes in case this happens again. Windows XP is exactly what we use here, and I have only seen this happen on that model printer (CP 1215). I will update if this issue arises again, and as always thanks for the feedback.
