Worn rollers make a grunting sound, even new ones often do this, but not so loud.

Hi

New to the forum

The grunting sound can indicate a need for new or the cleaning of rollers. It can also be caused by the tray not being properly pushed home (it sticks out the back and if the printer is up against a wall the draw can fail to shut properly). If the above fails than I have found that the tray2 feed roller IN THE TRAY can rub against the plastic housing. Try a bit of oil on the cogs (not on the roller itself) and check that the tray's internal mechanism are all as they should be.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the advise, I`ll do some cleaning and tray adjustment and see what happens.

If the paper doesnt jam, I would say leave it alone, as the other guys say cleaning them helps, cleaning never hurts as along you dry the rollers after cleaning them.

It might be worn gears that which drive the rollers in tray 2.

Have a technician check the printer over and have it serviced if needed.

Dont alter the adjustments, it could disturb the timing.

Whenever I hear the groaning noise, I change the 4 pickup rollers (D shaped) above the paper tray. RB1-8957-000CN
