Squeek coming from 8000n When printing
there is a chirping/squeek coming from the innards of
the printer. Can oil be applied? Any ideas.

I would not use oil unless you have positively isolated the squeek to a particular bearing or bushing. A quick thing you can try is changing the toner cartridge. A toner cartridge can likely be the problem and it's easy to isolate.

The F\D assy can also be the source . Fuser gets worn and will squeek.

Also, the dust should be removed from the registration assy. The build up of paper dust and talc wear the rollers out quickly. Use only laser paper!

Cleaning the squeeking spot (if you have located it) with alcohol can often help too.

When oiling a printer you should use Silicon oil very sparingly. A cheep quick alternative is WD40. Yes the car penetrating oil. Always give the oil time to penetrate the mechanisms before adding more.

Hope this helps
