Hp Laserjet 1300

I have an HP Laserjet 1300n connected through my router. The router display shows it as connected, But when i try to find it on the network it is nowhere to be found. I connected to my router using the 192.168.2.1 IP but it only shows 3 PC's connected, and no printer, Im not sure if im doing something wrong, or if its just not going to work, anyone have any suggestions as to what, or why its not working?

It is connect to the network through a jetdirect 200m Network interface.

I'm not much of a network person so I bounced this off a guy in the shop who is. He suggested that all rounters have an UPLINK port and it is always one of the ports on the end of the bank of ports. If you are plugged in to the UPLINK port your printer will not work. He also suggested you set up the printer to grab a DHCP address and see if that works.
