Hi everyone!
I am using an HP Pavillion dv2000 pc running Vista Home 32bit. The printer is HP Deskjet D1400. For the most part I don't have trouble using them together, however, this is the second episode of this issue. When I tried to cancel a print job it just kinda hung up. No matter how many I tried to cancel it nothing happened. So I tried deleting the printer from my system. That was 3 to 4 days ago and its still there but says it is being deleted. There was a document still showing in the que for the printer I was trying to delete. Thought that might be the problem.........can't get the document to delete either! Now I get the printer to respond to any command.
Can someone please help me? I need to be able to print paperwork for my job!

Thanks!

Any blinking lights on the printer? any error messages on the computer?

Not sure what is happening to you but in the past I ran into this. Go to START and find the PRINTERS & FAX, open it then left click on the default printer icon. If the box shows that there is a document pending you have to delete it before you can uninstall the printer. Once the job is deleted do a COLD RESET on your printer and reboot your PC and you may be OK. If you do not know how to do the COLD RESET just turning the printer off and then on may do the job. Please let us know what you find.

Youmay have to stop the print spooler service on your computer. Once stopped, restart it, thay may well clear both the queued job and the printer. If not, try deleting the job again, then the printer. Good Luck!

Nothing at all to indicate a malfunction

If the other suggestion doesn't work, I'll give this a try. Thanks:)
