Have small HP color Laserjet CM1312 MFP

Will someone please tell me how to place an envelope in the tray to print return address and 'to' address? I'm not sure if I place it 'end' first or 'top' first. I don't want to damage it or get something hung up where I can't undo.

If you do not have the User's Manual then download one. Most of the time there is guidance on the paper tray, a picture of an envelope with the addresses and stamp showing. Most small printers print the envelope with the face of the envelope up and the small end where the stamp would be going in first. If you only print an envelope now and then this printer will probably work OK. Print a hundred a month and your cost per envelope will be high in terms of toner and wear and tear on the fuser.

Thank you, Al. I looked in the booklet that came with the printer but did not see any direction except to get started.

Al, user manual doesn't mention envelopes.

Just put an envelope in tray 1 face up, and print an envelope. If it's upside down put another one face up in tray one and rotate it 180 degrees. Print, you're done.
