Light Scans on M3035 MFP

Suddenly our HP LaserJet M3035 MFP's scans are very light. I've cleaned the glass and turned the darkness up but the scans are still very light. Printing to the unit is still normal. Any ideas what might cause this?

Not sure how you adjusted the DARKNESS. So at the risk of repeating what you have done, and not knowing what you have done....ADMINISTRATION/Default job options/image adjustment.
Select DARKNESS = 0. Save and Home.

Yeah that's what I already did. It improved the darkness but it's still lighter than it originally was last week. It's weird how within a day it went from perfect scans to very light scans.

Also I didn't mention that the flatbed and automatic document feeder both scan very light.

You have an inexpensive unit that is prone to issues. You may be able to get the scanner replaced under warranty. Try a firmware update, even if same version.

Have you tried reseating the scanner cable ? If this is the unit I'm thinking of, they are prone to poor connections in the cables. Just a thought. Murphy
