I have a multi function LJ 3330. Works well in home office (have run 25,000+ pages in 3 years).

when I print on regular paper and regular "fast printing WITHOUT Econosaver", the toner binds just fine.

When I print on heavy linen paper and put the settings on Bond and Best Quality, I can rub off the ink with a few medium strength rubs.

So is it becuase I bought some low cost toner or because the fuser is going. This is an older machine, but any advice helps.

I have the ability to replace the fuser if that is the problem.

Is this a new problem? In the past did it print on the fancy paper without problems? Is this exactly the same linen paper you have always been using? HP puts out a list of acceptable papers for each kind of printer. I doubt it is either the toner or the fuser. The fuser has precise thermostats inside that control the temperature and will give an error code if the temperature is not just right. You may have to experiment with different settings and maybe a different kind of paper? Anyone you know that has a similar printer you can try this paper on? Let us know what you find.
