HP 3700 sounds like it has a worn swing arm gear. Is it similar to the HP 4250 gear problem?

No, it's not. You may have a frozen toner, or a fuser goin bad. The P/U assy may be broken, and the tray could be a problem. Many other factors can be the issue. :cool:
