Greetings all,
I recently purchased a new computer with the Windows 7 32 bit OS. Everything I needed to install worked quite well except the Toolbox utility for my HP 2550n colour laserjet. Yes I am aware this printer is approaching 6 (!) years old. I attempted to trick the system any way I could (direct copy/paste of the driver folders from the disc, using 2600 series drivers, figuring out which processes are used to start the program and prestarting those before attempting to access the url). The most success I enjoyed was to get the toolbox open and comparably functioning but no way could I get the program to find the printer.
The error log called to a Laserjet 2500n xml file "Constructor Failed" failure.
I'm guessing that the particular version of toolbox is not compatible with Windows 7. Are there any compatible versions? If so, could someone point me in the direction of alternatives?
Thanks,
James.
