Printer properties is not available

Hi
For some reason I cant go to the properties window of the HP PSC 2210 printer from any office file. I can still print, but cannot control the preferences. I searched all over the web without succes and hope you can help.
Obviousely, re-installed everything withou any change. The properties window opens and closes imediatelly.

Kind of poking around in the dark here on this one. Are you connected with an Ethernet cable (RJ-45), a USB cable or a centronix cable? Pull the NIC and try another port. Try reseating the NIC three or four times (with the power off of course), if no help then reseat everything on the formatter board, then cold reset the printer. Is this the only printer like this you have? Hook it to another desktop or laptop to see if it is the computer or the printer?

Be sure to wear a static strap when you poke around inside the printer.
