LJ 4300 Ringing Noise

I believe I saw this particular problem come up on the forum before but never saw an answer to what was causing it..I now have a LJ 4300 that when feeding envelopes/paper from Tray 1, there is a noticeable ringing noise. When you print normally from Tray 2, it is still there but at a much higher pitch which is hard to hear. Since they print a lot of envelopes, it has become an issue with the end user. I swapped out the Laser but the ringing continues..anyone remember this particular problem ? Murphy

Did you try a different toner? The aluminum drum in the toner is the most common cause of ringing noises/ higher-pitched sounds...

Thanks Steve for your reply regarding the ringing noise. Stopped by this morning and changed out the toner cartridge (remanufactured) & the noise is gone.

I will second that. We wind up with a lot of "Brand X" rebuilt cartridges and have noticed a lot of them were working fine but had that squeal.
