Keep getting "to use another try press check" Manually Feed Plain paper.

How do it get it to stop doing this and do a normal print from tray 2.

Thank you

First go to "Print Configuration" menu and print out settings. Then go to "reset factory defaults" and reset. This will set trays to original tray 1 manual feed, tray2 letter/legal, tray 3 letter/legal. Printer should then behave as normal. If they have different assignments for the trays other than these default ones, go back then to the tray menu and set them. Print config sheet again to make IP address (if networked) etc. stayed the same, if not set up like first config sheet you printed. Hope this solves it, I just had this problem a few days ago and this fixed it.

I did a reset factory defaults and a cold reset thinking it might go back to the way it was before. Both times it didn't fix it. Keeps doing the samething.

OK then there is probably something actually wrong with the manual feed tray paper-in sensor. Did you check the flag and sensor? It sounds like either the flag is stuck out of the sensor (when paper is loaded in the manual tray it actuates a flag which clears a sensor on the lower right behind the input assembly). With no paper loaded in the manual tray the flag blocks the sensor to indicate that there is no paper and the manual feed door is closed. If the flag is hitting on the side instead of going into the sensor, or if the tip (the flag) is broken off the shaft, the sensor is not blocked even though the door is closed and the printer assumes that there is paper there; Or the sensor itself may be defective.

What is the exact wording on the error message?

Did you pull out your Paper Tray (Tray 2) and check the little paper slider at the back of the tray to see what size it's set to?
