HP Laserjet 1600 blurry/out of focus

Hi,

When the page prints black only the type is sharp and clear. When it prints a composite of all colours it is blurry and out of focus. All the cartridges have been changed to no effect. These cartridges were also checked on another printer and were fine. Any idea's?

What does the printout look like if you print a test page straight from the printer menu, rather than sending it a print job from the computer?

Just as I described. Black only text sharp, composite text out of focus.
