lj 8150 and eio hard disk error 83.57

Greetings,

I have a laserjet 8150 with an J6054b EIO harddisk. I am seeing errors saying "Unable to collate job at printer Disk error 83.57"

I have re-initalized the disk several times, the error always returns.

Does this error mean the disk has (about) had it?

Can I replace the very "laptop" looking disk on the card with a drive I have around here - or is there something special about the disk on the EIO card which make replacement more of a challenge?

Are you using the hard drive?
If not just take it out.
You could also put it into the other EIO slot.
If you have another HDD that is physically the same size, swap it with the printers'. Initialize it after you install it.
