I have a customer that has a CL5500dn that intermittenly gets a paper jam error 13.01.00 from tray 2 when printing large jobs with letter. When the printer fails you can hear a buzzing noise coming from the paper pickup assembly and of course there is no actual paper jam. I have been there once when the printer failed and heard the buzzing noise, I quickly removed tray 2 and the paper was still in the paper cassette and I placed my finger on the white gear on the left side of the paper pickup assembly and felt a vibration ( this gear meshes with the gear on the paper cassette. When the printer fails the customer simply powers down the printer and powers it back up, the printer will then work for another day or 2 until it fails again.

I have replaced the tray 2 paper pickup assembly p/n RG-6670-220CN
and the seperation roller in tray 2 but the problem still persists.

Could it be the paper cassette ?

These trays are notorious for failure. since they double as the drive for the MP tray. The drive motor is two-way, so it might be faulty.

I have replaced the tray 2 paper pickup assembly p/n RG5-6670-220CN,
the PM2 motor p/n RH7-1523-000CN is included in the assembly, so it can't be that.
I am going to replace the paper cassette tray today. Wish me luck.
