My friend has a LaserJet 5000. Its working pretty fine, but from few day he found fading on the left side of the paper. He has changed the toner out. Some pages will come out fine while others will fade, but only on the bottom/left side of the paper. Just wondering the best way to get rid of this problem.
Please help..

Three things can cause light print:
- a faulty toner (if he's buying remanufactured toners, he should try switching to a different vendor as he may have gotten 2 from the same bad batch)
- a faulty/misaligned transfer roller (you should check to make sure the transfer roller is locked in place properly, it's the long black foam roller which sits in the printer underneath the toner cartridge)
- and also a dirty/failing laser scanner (dust can accumulate on the mirrors in the laser scanner, and the mirrors would need to be cleaned).
