I've just updated the driver for my LJ 6L (parallel connection) from the hp support site, and it tells me I now have the correct driver.
However, it prints what appears to be instructions to the printer. Although it prints the test page ok.
Help please.
Windows XP Pro SP2
VIA VT8637-8235 motherboard
AMD 1.4 Althon XP processor
1 Gb RAM
Radeon 8500 graphics card

So it prints the Windows test page ok ... is it printing these garbled character from all software programs, or only from one particular program? (e.g. Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer, Adobe Acrobat, etc.)
You said you just updated the driver, I assume it used to work fine ; and if so can you just change it back to your old driver?
Also, when you click File--> Print , make sure that you're selecting the correct printer name from the list of printers ... it could be that you have several drivers in your list and your default printer in the list may not be the driver you intend to use.
If none of this is applicable, just try downloading / installing a different driver...

Thanks. I rolled back to previous driver, it has a minor glitch, but I will continue to live with that.
