2 questions:
Do you know if the noise is from the back, left, top, right, or bottom of the printer?
Are there other symptoms occurring at the same time, like paper feed issues?
If you cant tell the general direction of the noise you're not going to be able to troubleshoot it very well. If you are not a technician, I recommend taking it to one. Noises are one of the more difficult things to troubleshoot.

First thing that comes to mind is that this printer is known for having a gear noise problem ... the fuser drive gear and the main fuser gear often wear out together ... this printer uses the same fuser & gears as the LaserJet P3005 ...
The noise would sound like a loud grinding noise, and the toubled gears (as you watch from the front) would come from the right rear side of the printer...
What causes the fuser gears to wear out?
The fuser bushing is prone to wear itself out, which causes the pressure roller bar inside the fuser to slip, and the gears wear out ...
The fuser / maintenance kit is on our site:

Email or call if you think you also need the fuser drive gears.
