I have a client that needs this assembly cleaned. How often should this be done? Is there a maintenance schedule that would show page count intervals for certain routine maintenance items that this might fall under.

Thanks,
Nathan

Your referring to the laser scanner.
It should be cleaned whenever it has to get cleaned.
I have never seen a cleaning schedule for the laser scanner.

There is no maintenance schedule for cleaning this piece... some people NEVER clean it ... some have to clean it regularly ... it all depends on the environment... basically, the scanner mirror gets dirty because of toner/dust filtering into it...

Cleaning the scanner mirror is normally considered a last resort when you see continuous light print or faded print on every print job... first you would try a different toner, different transfer roller, different software driver, and then finally clean the mirror...

I think cleaning the mirror can be rather risky if done the wrong way, if it gets scratched it can make the print fuzzy.

I Clean the mirrors sometimes, with different machines, I use bottled water and a cotton tip, and carefully clean the mirror, and then wipe it with a dry cotton tip, this usually improves the print density.
