We're using a hp laserjet 4000n. I just installed it on a new computer, it seems to be working just fine for the most part. I can print a test page, print from an internet browser, but one of our accounting softwares cannot seem to print to it. It sends the information over and the print spits out the appropriate number of pages, but there's nothing on the pages except for a black bar printed across the top of every page. I updated the driver and still nothing. I know that there's a number of different possible problems here, one of which is the program we're using, but the program was printing fine 10 mins prior before I attached the 4000n to it. Any thoughts would be helpful.

The problem ended up being in the software itself and not with the printer. Even though the new LJ had been selected as the default printer the software was not recognizing it as such. Apparently it was sending information to the printer but because the software thought it was still sending info to the old printer the LJ was receiving the job but unable to understand the information. Unfortunately, the only fix that we were able to find was to manually select the new printer for each print which is kind of inconvenient but it works.

Has that printer been set to default?
