Only because I have to battle LJ9050mfp with the dreaded 49.4c02 msg am I writing this.
I searched the the forum for 49.4c02 and came up with 5 threads that were important enough for 5 different people to write in and ask for help.
There was at least one response to each persons problem.
The amazing thing is not one person with the problem responded back with a thanks for the help, the printer is now working or Thanks for taking the time, but I still see the error or screw you, you guys are idiots and I don't believe what you are telling me.

A forum only works when there is give and take with the exchange of ideas and solutions to those ideas.

At least be polite enough to to let us know what happened.

I'm done venting now

Al, I like working on printers. I try to pass off server, desktop and laptop calls so that I can get my hands dirty.

I like this forum because most of the techs that input ideas know what's going on in the real world. And I get answers, good answers most of the time. And I hope that I am supplying a few of those answers.

It's just the a**holes that ask you for help, keep asking for help on the same problem and then they disappear never to be heard from again. And you have no idea if the time you spent researching THEIR problem worked or not.

And then today I had one of those problems. 5 different people also had the same problem. Not one of the five ever took the time to respond with any answer.

Another vent ended

Oh, I have to return tomorrow with a formatter to see if that will fix my 49.4c02.

I agree, because it shows gratitude for the assistance given and helps the next person down the line. I always try to reply if I have a reply to give whether it worked or not.

Howdy, and I know it's good to vent, although I dont on tech sites, {but other places} this is the right thing to say, if only the right people read it.
Can that be bumpped up regularly?
I know that error very well, and throwing lots of parts at it does'nt always work. It seems to be an I/O glitch that faulty NIC's can generate, but still may hose the Formatter. I dont realize the expense, as it's all contract and warranty, and I dont see the costs, and I sympathize with those who have to tightly budget repairs. I get good tips here, and hopefuly mine have helped too. Michael Stewart.

Discovered after ordering and replacing parts, that the tray 4 power lite was not coming on. However, the stacker was coming ready. By unplugging tray 4 from the AC, and plugging the stacker into the AC the error went away, and the printer now works.
The onsite IT(?) guy then remembered that he was doing a firmware update when he got a message that the printer lost connection. Go figure. At this point I think that the tray 4 firmware got hosed and now it won't power up.
So, tomorrow I'm replacing the tray 4 assembly. No, not by myself!
