Does anyone know how to get out of demo mode with the HP 4000 series printers?

I got a tech buddy of mine in another state that has this problem. This mode is for store displays so the customers can print demo pages. The info is not in the service manual and Cold Reset does not reset it. Any ideas?

I would hazard a guess that to get into Demo Mode, one would have to load something into the formatter.
Have you tried a NVRAM reset?
If he's got another printer...swap the formatters and see if Demo Mode follows the formatter.
Try the NVRAM reset

The only thing I found is that you should be able to get out of demo mode by pressing GO and SELECT at the same time while powering up. I told my buddy and we'll see if it works. If it does, I'll post the reply here to help others. If not, we probably will leave it the way it is. His customer has been using it for some time and NVRAM reset is such a pain when you have to enter everything back in. You know the saying, "If it ain't broke..." It's more of an irritating inconvenience than anything else, because they are printing to it and it is working. Thanks for trying to help.

how do i get into a demo mode, if I want to demonstrate the printer to a pontential client?

I sell laser printers to customers and I would like to have something in the printer to help demonstrate their features.

How do I store demo jobs on the machine?
